What this policy covers
Cookies are small values a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, including local storage, can also save or retrieve information on your device. This policy covers both.
Storage categories
- Essential: required for sign-in, account security, service requests, and remembering your consent choice. This storage cannot be switched off through the consent panel because the related features cannot operate reliably without it.
- Preferences: remembers interface choices such as theme and sidebar state. Sceawere does not read or write these preference entries until you allow them.
Current storage list
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose and duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session | Cookie | Essential | Keeps signed-in sessions working and helps verify account access. Session and security settings determine expiry |
| Consent choice | Cookie | Essential | Records whether you allowed optional preference storage. 180 days |
| Sign-in protection | Local storage | Essential | Applies sign-in attempt limits and temporary lockouts in this browser. Removed after successful sign-in or when no longer needed |
| Appearance preference | Local storage | Preferences | Remembers light or dark appearance after you allow preferences. Until you withdraw consent or clear browser data |
| Dashboard layout preference | Local storage | Preferences | Remembers the dashboard sidebar state after you allow preferences. Until you withdraw consent or clear browser data |
Authentication services may use more than one short-lived or persistent cookie to establish and refresh a secure session. Exact names and lifetimes can vary by browser and account-security configuration.
How consent works
On your first visit, the consent panel offers two clear choices. You can allow interface preferences or continue with essential storage only. Optional preference storage stays off until you allow it.
If you later choose essential storage only, Sceawere removes the saved theme and sidebar entries from that browser. Your current page can remain visible, but those settings will not persist on the next visit.
Third-party services
Sceawere uses service providers for account authentication, infrastructure, and, where relevant, payment processing. A provider may set essential cookies when you sign in, access account features, or open its payment page. Those providers process data under their own privacy notices and contractual obligations.
Browser controls
You can delete or block cookies and local storage through your browser. Blocking essential authentication storage may prevent sign-in and other account features from working. Clearing browser data also removes your consent record, so the consent panel may appear again.
Changes to storage
If we introduce analytics, advertising, or another optional category, we will update this policy and ask for the relevant consent before enabling that storage. We may also ask you to choose again when the purpose of existing storage changes materially.
